Pierre Guimond, Architect, MAIBC, MRAIC, LEED AP
Pierre Guimond's approach to design draws from several beliefs: the belief that the lines between interior and exterior should be blurred, that neither new nor old is best, that research is a must in order to enrich vocabularies, that inspiration should borrow from the arts to improve perspectives and get the necessary license for the daring use of colour and shapes, and that we have a responsibility to sustain and improve the environment. He seeks to generate design solutions that are modern, functional, uplifting and responsible.Pierre Guimond graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1988. He is a member of the Architectural Institute of British Columbia, the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada and is a LEED Accredited Professional.
For many years prior to pursuing registration as a professional architect, Pierre owned and operated a design-build company. He learned hands-on, complete with blisters and splinters, the various trades involved in construction, including wood and steel framing, landscaping, and concrete placement and finishing. His personal experiences with the various means of construction have made him a creative designer and thinker with an earned ability to foresee the buildability of a single line.
